The Center for the
Advancement of Women’s Health is happy to announce the addition of Dr. Aletia
Farmer to the clinical faculty beginning July 1, 2009.
Dr. Farmer is a 2000 graduate of the University of Kentucky,
School of Medicine, and in 2008 completed a 3 year residency in Internal
Medicine, also at the University. Dr.
Farmer continued with the Department of Internal Medicine as a hospitalist in
2009, transferring to the Center for the Advancement of Women’s Health in July
of 2009. Her primary clinical interests
are Primary Care and Women’s Health.
Dr. Farmer has received many awards throughout her academic
career including, the Beale Primary care Scholarship, 2002-2005, The Buckley
Scholarship, 2003-2005, W.C. and Sara McCauley Scholarship,, 2004-2005 and
two-time Resident of the Month, UK
Internal Medicine, in August 2005 and September 2007.
Dr. Farmer is married to Wesley Farmer and has one son. Her personal interests include hiking, snow
skiing, gardening and boating.
