The Per Diem Pool is a float pool that provides supplemental staffing to all patient care areas in the Hospital for
pre-existing shift vacancies as well as “call-in” shift vacancies. Nurses are floated to the various units as needed.
You must have at least 18 months of comparable experience.
The Per Diem Pool is made up of two distinct staffing groups, Acute Care and Critical Care:
The Acute Care Pool floats to all adult Medical Surgical units as well as telemetry. The nurses are required to complete
specialized courses to ensure competency in telemetry, oncology, as well as core competencies for all other Medical
Surgical areas.
The ICU Pool floats to all adult Critical Care units as well as the Emergency Department and PACU. This staff must
complete specialized course work to enable competency in the ICUs. All must maintain ACLS & TNCC certifications.
The general working requirements are 40 hours/4 weeks plus 12 hours of call. Some holiday and weekend requirements are
included. There are increased pay incentives for increased work hours.
The Per Diem Pool is the perfect opportunity for highly qualified personnel who want flexibility, challenge and control
over their schedule. What a great way to broaden your scope of care and increase skill development!
