The Perioperative Services unit provides patient care to all patients undergoing surgical procedures. A patient’s plan of care is coordinated with the surgeon, anesthesiologist, nurses, and other members of the health care team. Perioperative Services is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The unit consists of a preoperative anesthesia clinic, 2 preoperative holding rooms (Holding), 21 operating room (OR) suites, 2 recovery rooms (PACU), a postoperative observational area, a cardiac catheterization recovery room, a gamma knife radiosurgery unit, a central sterile processing area, and a materials management supplies area.
Services include cardiothoracic, gamma knife radiosurgery, general surgery, gynecology, minimally invasive surgery, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, oral and maxillofacial, orthopedics and sports medicine, otolaryngology, pediatrics, plastic and reconstructive surgery, trauma, urology, and vascular. Heart, lung, renal, pancreas, and liver transplants are also offered.
