Resident Program Handbook

The University of Kentucky Division of Otolaryngology residency program requires that residents perform two research projects, one of which is basic science oriented and one of which is clinically oriented. Residents are given an outline for completion of various steps of the projects. Progress is monitored by both an attending physician whom the resident selects as an advisor as well as by the residency research director, Dr. Shinn. The goal of the research is to produce papers and/or posters worthy of publication and presentation at national meetings. Should a resident have an abstract, poster, or paper accepted for presentation, the Division of Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery, will provide for the resident to travel to the meeting.
