Introduction
The Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Residency at the University of Kentucky is a comprehensive, non-pyramidal, five-year program. One or two residents are chosen each year on an alternating basis, giving a total of six residents in the formal otolaryngology program.
Our curriculum is designed to provide intensive clinical experience within a vigorous academic framework. We strive to develop an environment for outstanding patient care, scientific research, and an atmosphere of learning. Our goal is to prepare residents for a professional career of his or her choosing, be that in an academic or in a private setting.
The UK otolaryngology residency training program encompasses all aspects of our field. This includes otologic, neurotologic and skull base surgery; head and neck cancer surgery, microvascular and regional reconstruction; cosmetic facial surgery, maxillofacial trauma surgery and cleft lip/palate repair; nasal and sinus surgery; obstructive sleep apnea surgery; and pediatric otolaryngology.
We will challenge you to become a surgeon of extraordinary skills, and a physician of excellent bedside manner. We will nurture you to develop your talents to their full potential in pursuit of professional excellence and confidence.
We welcome you to the Division of Otolaryngology at the University of Kentucky!
