Anand G. Vaishnav, M.D.

Medical Director of the University Hospital's Stroke Center and Assistant Professor of Neurology with a joint appointment to the Sanders-Brown Center on Aging.

Dr. Vaishnav received his medical training at the Vadodara Medical School, Vadodara, India, Staten Island University Hospital, and the New Jersey Neuroscience Institute. He was a Cerebrovascular Fellow and Senior Instructor at the Oregon Stroke Center in Portland.

Dr. Vaishnav joined the Commonwealth Center of Excellence in Stroke in 2002 and was made Medical Director of UK Hospital's 12-bed Primary Stroke Center when it was accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) in 2005. Dr. Vaishnav has participated in grants from the National Institutes of Health and industry-sponsored clinical research. Dr. Vaishnav's research interests center on prevention and treatment of acute stroke.
