The Commonwealth Center of Excellence in Stroke of the Sanders-Brown Center on Aging sponsors a Listserve group, STROKE-L, to share information and opinions, ideas and inquiries that relate to stroke. All interested subscribers are welcome to discuss any stroke-related topic The discussion is not technical and scientific. Rather, the list serves as a source of support and information exchange for stroke survivors and their caregivers.. To subscribe to Stroke-L, send an e-mail message to listserv@lsv.uky.edu. It is not necessary to have anything in the Subject line of the message. The body of the message should read: Subscribe Stroke-L [your first name] [your last name]
Help for Stroke-L Archives for Stroke-L provide a searchable database organized by topic in a web interface. Access is limited to subscribers. Each subscriber will be required to establish a password. You can ask LISTSERV® to mail you basic information. To do so, send e-mail to listserv@lsv.uky.edu with the following text in the message body: help You will receive a message from listserv containing basic LISTSERV® command and instructions. The General Users Guide to Listserv® can be viewed or downloaded at the L-Soft web site. The User's Guide provides a complete list of commands to manage your subscription and tips on the etiquette of discussion lists. Stroke-L Links American Stroke Association. ASA is a division of the American Heart Association that offers a Stroke Family "Warmline" (1-800-553-6321) for referrals to Stroke Support Groups and supports for starting Stroke Support Groups. Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada stroke information page offers bilingual tips for living with stroke, including the Strokeline Newsletter. The National Stroke Association Survivor and Caregiver Resources lists Stroke Centers, Stroke Support Groups and Support Organizations in North America. The Stroke Network: an online network developed by stroke survivor Steve Mallory to provide support for stroke survivorss. A handy source of information about stroke that offers many helpful links and sponsors discussion lists and chat groups for cybersupport. |
