The Commonwealth Center of Excellence in Stroke is the fulcrum of a broadly-based, intra-institutional collaboration to promote clinical research in stroke within UK. These activities are administered jointly through the Sanders-Brown Center and the Department of Neurology in the College of Medicine. The Stroke Program has collaborative partners in the Department of Emergency Medicine, the Division of Neurosurgery in the Department of Surgery, the Division of Neuroradiology in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology, the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the Division of Cardiology within the Gill Heart Institute, the NIH-funded General Clinical Research Center (GCRC) in the Chandler Medical Center, and the University of Kentucky Clinical Research Organization (UKCRO).
