Support Cancer Research

One in three American women and one in two American men will develop a cancer in their lifetime. Great strides have been made in our ability to cure cancer, and for some cancers cure rates approach 100 percent. Unfortunately, the outlook for some other common cancers, such as those of the lung, pancreas, colon and brain, is less than satisfactory.

The Department of Radiation Medicine at the University of Kentucky is involved in several national and regional research programs to find the basis of cancer and to develop new, more effective treatments for these cancers.

Some of our research is supported by grants from the National Cancer Institute, The American Cancer Society, and the University. You can also be a part of the effort. Your gift to the department of Radiation Medicine Research and Educational Fund would be most welcome support of these continuing research activities.
