Dr. James McCormickWelcome

The mission of the members of the Pulmonary, Critical Care, Sleep Medicine Division at the University of Kentucky is to improve the health of our citizens. Our special focus is to engage in research and education addressing acute and chronic lung conditions such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, lung cancers and fibrosing lung diseases. Should chronic lung diseases progress to end-stage, we offer advanced therapies, including lung transplantation for some and expert palliative care for all.

As a center for excellence in critical care, our team of specialists provides advanced resuscitative management to patients in the intensive care units and conducts scientific inquiry into the mechanisms of organ system failure in order to provide better care to the seriously ill.

Education of future specialists and researchers is coequal with our mission to provide excellent clinical care so that future generations will enjoy better health and opportunities for longer and more productive lives.
