Director of the Office of Health Equity Elected to Foundation Advisory Committee
Louisville KY – The Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky Community Advisory Committee (CAC) elected Torrie Harris, Dr.P.H., Director of the Office of Health Equity – as one of the newest members of the CAC. The CAC is a group of 31 Kentucky residents who share a commitment to improving health care and whose role is to advise the Foundation’s Board of Directors on policy direction and to nominate and appoint new members to the Foundation Board. Dr. Harris is committed to the elimination of health disparities and the creation of health equity for low-income, minority, and underserved populations of Kentucky. She has over 10 years of experience in healthcare. The Foundation looks forward to Dr. Harris’ participation on the CAC as she brings a wealth of experience in improving health for people living in Kentucky. The Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky was established in May, 2001 to address the unmet health care needs of Kentucky by developing and influencing health policy, improving access to care, reducing health risks and disparities and promoting health equity.
