Department of Health Behavior Faculty Co-Chairs National Cultural Competence Project

Dr. Linda A. Alexander, served as Co-Chair of the Joint Expert Panel on Cultural Competence Education Project. The Project is pleased to announce the up-coming web-based release of the panels' final report entitled Cultural Competence Education for Students in Medicine and Public Health. The project, a unique collaboration between the Association of Schools of Public Health (ASPH) and the American Association of Medical Colleges (AAMC), brought together experts from the fields of public health and medicine to discuss the important contributions of both disciplines to enhance attitudes, knowledge and skills of practitioners. The resulting report, scheduled for distribution this Friday, provides general recommendations on cultural competencies and associated educational opportunities common to programs of study for medical and public health students.

Look for more details in the July 20th, 2012 ASPH Friday letter. A free PDF copy of the report will be available on both ASPH and AAMC websites.
