Clinical Interests - Traumatic Brain Injury, Electrodiagnosis, Intrathecal Baclofen Pump Management

CLINICAL
Dr. Walters is head of the Traumatic Brain Injury Unit at Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital. He is also active in spasticity management including intrathecal baclofen pumps as well as electrodiagnosis.

EDUCATION
Dr. Walters is an active member of the Education Committee. He was elected "Resident of the Year" two consecutive years and Chief Resident from 2006 - 2007. He is also active in supervising residents and medical students on the Traumatic Brain Injury Unit at Cardinal Hill as well as in various clinics at UK including ITB management and Electrodiagnosis. He also serves as clerkship coordinator and mentor for medical students in the RBM 850 course.

RESEARCH
Dr. Walters received the department's award for "Outstanding Research Project by a Resident" two consecutive years. His research included development of a functional outcome measure in childhood myositis in collaboration with Shriner's Hospital in Lexington and a Case presentation of a Median Nerve Injury after a novel AAA surgical repair technique.
