Dr. Stiles is director
and attending physician for the University of Kentucky
Geriatric clinic. This clinic provides
subspecialty geriatric care to adults experiencing aging
syndromes such as dementia, failure to thrive, and
falls. In addition, this clinic also provides care
for adults interested in 'successful aging'. Dr. Stiles
is Medical Director at Pimlico Skilled Nursing Center,
along with serving as an attending physician. She
provides care for patients at Friendship Nursing Homes' subacute Head Injury Unit.
Dr. Stiles' main
research has focused on geriatric rehabilitation.
In addition, she has been involved in research in
geriatric nutrition, diabetes, medical education, and
dementia. Dr. Stiles teaches a
variety of learners in geriatrics through lectures or in
clinical settings. Physician residents in Physical Medicine and
Rehabilitation, Internal Medicine, and Family Medicine; Physician Assistants, physical
therapy
and medical students regularly rotate through her
clinical sites. Dr. Stiles teaches in the PhD
Gerontology Program and provides educational support to
the Ohio Valley Appalachian Region Geriatric Education
Center. |
