Why Choose UK PM&R Residency?

We Have A Strong Residency Program:

The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine offers a comprehensive residency training program in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Our four-year residency is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) of the American Medical Association. All residents are accepted at the PGY1 level through the National Residency Match Program. Any open PGY2 residency position is evaluated on an individual basis. The Residency Program is designed to teach the holistic, interdisciplinary team approach to health care as outlined in the training objectives of the ACGME specialty requirements. As such, emphasis is placed on maximizing the physical, psychological, social, vocational and avocational potential of all patients. Our departmental goal is to provide each resident with the best possible didactic and clinical education program, in order to fully prepare residents for a career in academic or private practice physiatry.

We Bleed Blue:

Bleed Blue The University of Kentucky are die hard fans of our Wildcats. The NCAA released its Academic Progress Rate report in 2010, showing that all 22 of the University of Kentucky sports teams surpassed the NCAA target score and that 13 of the 22 squads exceeded or tied the national average for public universities in their sports.“The KENTUCKY brand is fortunate to be represented by a stable of fantastic products. From its 22 team products to its licensed consumer products, KENTUCKY is an international and powerful brand. And, best of all, it’s getting stronger.” — Jason Schlafer, Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing and Licensing

We are Horse Country:

KeenelandIn 2007, the Keeneland Association and the University of Kentucky Libraries formed a partnership to develop a preservation plan for the Keeneland Association's nearly complete collection of the Daily Racing Form and its predecessor title, The Morning Telegraph. The University of Kentucky and the Keeneland Association are now positioned to look for additional partners to complete the preservation of this priceless and imperiled resource, one that captures the heart and soul as well as the facts of the Thoroughbred racing industry.
