| The specialty residency in
Infectious Diseases provides an in-depth experience from a variety of
required rotations including antimicrobial management, infectious diseases
consults, immunology lab, microbiology lab, bone marrow transplant, and
surgical critical care rotations. Other areas for infectious diseases
electives include HIV clinic, pediatric infectious diseases, solid organ
transplant, and medical/pulmonary critical care rotations. The primary
emphasis of the program is to develop clinicians with expertise in the area
of infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, and antimicrobial
stewardship. Residents completing the program are expected to
demonstrate competency in the areas of contemporary pharmacy practice,
written and oral communication and infectious diseases research. |
