Pig Roast

The Annual Pig Roast is a chance to get together with residents and faculty from the years past. A pig is purchased, and it is the responsibility of the residents to cook and prepare. Current and past residents, faculty, friends of the residency program, and their guests are invited to attend.

This activity usually involves an entire day of celebration and fellowship.  It is a bonding experience that pays its rewards later that day with a wonderful feast. All past residents receive notice of the time and place of the Pig Roast, and there is usually a great turnout.

For 2007, the event was moved to Adena Park, an Indian burial ground located in Lexington.  There were games to be played, including volleyball, horseshoes, and cornhole.

The night prior, all of the residents got together at Dr. Cook's home for a social event.  The residents were up early the next morning to make sure the pig was ready for the afternoon festivities.
Previous residents and faculty joined the residents at Adena Park for a day of games, covered dishes, pulled pork, and other grilled items.
