Kentucky Pharmacy Residency Network

The Kentucky Pharmacy Residency Network (KPRN) is a coalition of residency training programs from across the Bluegrass State. Ranging from community to university hospital settings, these programs provide a variety of training opportunities in diverse environments. Program administrators, preceptors and residents gather periodically during the residency year to facilitate resident and preceptor growth and development, recruitment activities, and program communication. Members also have access to the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy's Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Certificate Program, an AACP award-winning teaching skill development program for residents and preceptors. On-site meetings dedicated to resident development occur in the spring and summer, and members also gather during the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting to exchange ideas and renew friendships. The KPRN is coordinated by Kelly M. Smith, PharmD, BCPS, FASHP on behalf of the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy.KPRN is supported by grants from the Kentucky Hospital Association, and the UK Research Challenge Trust Fund, particularly as it endeavors to expand and promote pharmacy practice in rural settings.
