John Piecoro - Pharm.D.

Dr. Piecoro coordinates off-campus recruiting efforts for the college, as well as on-campus events such as UK Academic Honors Day and the Career Day Open House. He is responsible for advising prepharmacy students on and off campus.

During the 1996-97 year, Dr. Piecoro was assigned to the office of UK President Charles Wethington Jr., where he served as assistant to the president for administrative affairs. He is serving his second term as the University's faculty athletics representative (FAR) to the Southeastern Conference and the National Collegiate Athletic Association. In his position as FAR, Dr. Piecoro chairs a committee that oversees the athletics program at UK. Dr. Piecoro also is secretary of the University of Kentucky Athletic Association.

Dr. Piecoro served as alcohol and drug-control officer for the Kentucky Army National Guard from 1988 until his retirement after more than 28 years of duty. He previously had served as chief pharmacist with the 475th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital in Frankfort, Ky.

In 2000, Dr. Piecoro was named director of the University of Kentucky Self-Study, a two-year process required every 10 years by the University's accrediting body, the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
