Activities and Services
- Report grant statistics to the NIH and AACP for national ranking comparisons.
- Sign-off authority for the Dean on sponsored project applications in relation to commitments to the sponsored project requested of the College, verify equitable
- distribution of indirect costs for applications from more than one unit and address conflicts of interest.
- Helps College faculty members prepare conflict of interest management plans and prepares reports of the activities of the conflict of interest management committees.
- Represents the College on the Research Management Group, which is comprised of University Associate Deans for Research.
- Oversee the college equipment maintenance program and coordinate payment for contracts and maintenance performed.
- Maintain the College's chemical inventory database
- Negotiate start-up packages for new faculty hires and purchase of shared equipment with the Office of the Vice President for Research.
- Maintain and provide reports of the College's space occupancy and usage.
- Provide oversight and maintenance of shared research resources such as copiers and poster paper.
- Maintain the College's Post-Doctoral student database.
- Providing assistance to college personnel for sponsored project budgets and other issues.
- Notify college personnel of new/existing sponsored project funding opportunities.
- Inform college personnel of sponsor and university policy and grant application changes.
- Oversee and maintain the College's lab/chemical safety and training requirements.
- Verify that all national/State/University regulations regarding lab/chemical safety are followed and understood. Correct problems when necessary.
- Provide Material Safety Data Sheets to College personnel.
- Monitor and supervise College fire drills.
- Assist College personnel with equipment and hazardous waste disposal.
- Coordinate the decommissioning of all research laboratories.
