Scholarship Office

The Scholarship Office in the Department of Pharmacy Practice & Science within the College of Pharmacy is designed to enhance the scholarly productivity of our faculty, students and residents. We are dedicated to the University of Kentucky’s Top 20 Vision; consequently we promote grant and publication submissions through provision of administrative support.

We are available for:

  • Identifying funding sources
  • Collaborator identification/matching
  • Consultation on submission timelines
  • Consultation on application requirements for grant submissions
  • Formatting and entering information on grant packages
  • Communicating with the College Grants Officer and Research Administrator in the Office for Sponsored Projects Administration (OSPA)
  • Coordination of protocol reviews by Proposal Development Office (PDO)
  • Finalizing grant documents for submission to OSPA
  • Administrative Follow –up, Problem Solving and Investigation
  • Coordination communication between investigators and UK research offices including, UKCRO, OSPA, ORI, GCRC
  • Registration of Investigator Initiated Clinical Trials
  • Assisting with matching students with appropriate mentors
  • Faculty Mentoring
  • Pre-grant submission reviews
  • Reference management tools

Once your grant has been approved we can coordinate the necessary internal approvals necessary for your project including:

  • Internal Review Board (IRB)
  • Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC)
  • Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)
  • Any other relevant committees to your project

We are here to assist in any way possible to alleviate faculty of administrative burdens; as a result, faculty can focus on the science in the grant writing process. We are here to help keep you in compliance! In order to do this, we can track the following at your request:

  • Human Subject Protection Training
  • Lab Safety Training
  • Bloodbourne Pathogen Training
  • IRB Continuation Reviews
  • IBC Continuation Reviews
  • IACUC Continuation Reviews

Our office is committed to the promotion of our faculty achievements. We publish these accomplishments in a quarterly newsletter and submit to local and national publications. Please keep us informed of your activities so we can get the proper recognition for our College.
