Albert Turk Award
Award is named for Albert Turk, the former manager of the Lexington Division of McKesson Drug Company. For a student in the third professional year as selected by classm ates for outstanding scholastic achievement and professional activities. Sponsored by the Cincinn ati Division, McKesson Drug Company.
Bluegrass Award
For a student in the first professional year th at was selected by classmates for leadership, activity and character. Sponsored by the Bluegrass Pharmacists Association.
The Bootstrap Award
For a student in the second professional year who was in the lower portion of the class after the first semester, and who has demonstrated the greatest overall academic improvement between the first and third semesters in the College. Sponsored by Schering-Key Pharmaceuticals.
Dean Earl P. Slone Award
Named for Earl P. Slone, dean of the College from 1946 - 1967. For an outstanding student chosen by the student body of the College on the basis of academic, professional and social accomplishments. Sponsored by Kentucky Academy of Students of Pharmacy.
Excellence in Pharmacology Award
For outstanding academic excellence and continuing interest in the areas of Physiology and Pharmacology by a second professional year student. Sponsored by the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Gordon L. Curry Award for Excellence in Chemistry
Named for Gordon L. Curry, former dean of the College in Louisville from 1893 - 1917 & 1925 - 1946. For outstanding academic achievement by a student in courses in the areas of medicinal and biological chemistry. Sponsored by the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and by Upsilon Chapter of the Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity.
Joseph V. Swintosky Excellence in Pharmaceutics Award
Named for Joseph V. Swintosky, dean from 1967 - 1987. For outstanding academic achievement by a student in courses taught by the faculty in the area of pharmaceutics and pharmaceutical analysis, and sponsored by the faculty in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Kappa Psi Graduate Chapter Award
For a student in the second professional year that was selected by classmates for scholarship, activity, character and contribution to the profession. Sponsored by the Graduate Chapter of Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity.
Lesschafft Pharmaceutical Care Labor atory Award
For a student in the third professional year that has demonstrated excellence in integrated laboratory activities and growth in professional development throughout the six semesters CAPP sequence. Sponsored by the CAPP coordinators and laboratory instructors.
Natural Medicines Comprehensive Database Recognition Award
Presented to a student who has exhibited an interest in the use of natural medicines and whose academic and/or extracurricular activities demonstrates outstanding promise in the assessment, evaluation, or delivery of patient care in relation to the use of natural medicines.
Paracelsus Award
For overall academic achievement by a student in their first professional year. Sponsored by D& K Healthcare Resources, Inc. and the College of Pharmacy.
Phi Lambda Sigma Leadership Award
Selected by Phi Lambda Sigma members for commitment to the profession of pharmacy and outstanding leadership in various facets of the both the College and the community. Sponsored by the Chi Chapter of Phi Lambda Sigma, the National Pharmacy Leadership Society.
Professor H.O. Haeusgen Award
Named for H.O. Haeusgen, a former professor of m aterial medica (pharmacology) at the College who retired in 1945. For overall academic achievement by a student in the second professional year. Sponsored by Lambda Kappa Sigma.
