College and Department Support Funds

College of Pharmacy Student Recruitment Fund

Initialized in 2005 by a gift from Medco Health. Endowed fund that provides income to be used for marketing and applicant recruitment purposes for the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science.

Dean's Discretionary Fund

Supports college initiatives not otherwise having funding. Gifts to this fund, at the discretion of the Dean, may be endowed and used in support of enhancing education and research at the college in perpetuity.

David E. Guttman Memorial Lecture Fund

Supports a biennial lecture of interest to postgraduate students and faculty and shall be delivered by prominent pharmaceutical educators and scientists. Established in honor of David Guttman, professor in Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Analysis, who died in 1974.

Endowment for the Advancement of Pharmacy and Medical Continuing Education

Established by the college in 2005 for the promotion of excellence in continuing education programming.

HBK Fund for Excellence in Pharmaceutical Science and Graduate Education

Assists in recruitment and retention of exceptional graduate students and faculty for the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Joseph B. Swintosky Distinguished Lecture Series Fund

Provides an honorarium for an annual visiting lecturer for the College. Established in 1991 by Dr. Joseph Swintosky, former dean, UK College of Pharmacy.

Kentucky Hospital Association Professorship and Research Fund

Established in 2005 by the Kentucky Hospital Association. Provides support for clinical hospital pharmacy education, research and program expansion.

Paul Parker Endowment Fund for Residency Training and Research

Supports research projects within the residency program. Competitive proposal process.

Pediatric Drug Fund

May support activities focusing on pediatric drug therapy, drug administration, medication safety and outcomes, or as determined by the Pediatric Drug Fund Committee.

Pharmacy Practice and Science Endowed Fund for Excellence

Supports activities in PPS program resulting in programmatic development and implementation for instructional and research purposes. Initiated by gifts from Joe Schutte of Gerimed in Louisville, Ky. and Ken Wiggins of King Drug and Home Care, Hartford, Ky.

Schutte Pharmaceutical Policy Endowment

Established in 2006 by Betty and Joe Schutte to benefit and support projects and research as related to pharmaceutical policy.

Student Affairs Event Fund

An ongoing fund to support a variety of student activities for all College of Pharmacy students. Provides financial support of White Coat initiative, Organizational assistance, professional development seminars and travel to annual meetings.
