  • September 8 - Dr. Colleen Swenney, UC Davis (Host: Dr. Yang) - LRIG1, From Drosophilia to Implications for Human Breast Cancer.

  • November 3 - Dr. Mary Ann Gimenez Sanders, University of Lousiville - HER-2/NEU Breast Cancer: Two Clinicopathologic Studies. Seminar will take place in MN-463.

  • November 21 - Lindsay Calderon Dissertation Seminar: The Role of iPLA2beta in Hypertension and Vascular Smooth Muscle Cell Regulation. Lindsay's faculty advisor is Dr. Ming Gong. Seminar will take place in Room 115 in the College of Nursing building.

  • Jan. 19 - Dr. Brett Spear, from the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics at the University of Kentucky will present the results from his latest reasearch on the regulation of gene expression. The title of his seminar is: Zhx2: A novel regulator of gene expression associated with cardiovascular and liver disease. Seminar host Dr. Yang. Please join us at 3 PM in room MN-463.

  • Jan. 25 - Mr. Abdelghaffar Salous, MD/Ph.D. student with Dr. Andrew Morris will present his seminar on the Characterization of plasma lysophospholipid elimination in a murine model. The seminar is scheduled from 1-2 PM in room MN-463. Seminar host is Dr. Morris.

  • Feb. 1 - Ms. Eun-Sil Park, graduate student with Dr. Misung Jo, will present her dissertation seminar at 9:30 AM in room MN-563 UKMC - The title of her seminar is RUNT-related transcription factor RUNX1 and RUNX2 in the periovulatory ovary. Dr. Robert Hadley is co-advisor. Seminar host is Dr. Jo.

  • Feb. 9 - Dr. Beth Stutzmann, Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago will present her work on the role of calcium dysregulation in the brain of AD models - The title of her seminar is: "Early Synaptic Signaling Deficits and Calcium Dysregulation in Alzheimer's Disease". Seminar host is Dr. Thibault.

  • Feb.16 - Dr. Qingjun Wang, from the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Kentucky will present her work on mechanisms of autophagy and their link to neurodegenerative diseases and cancer - Title of the presentation is: "Autophagy regulation by the Beclin 1-Vps34 protein complexes". Seminar host is Dr. Yang.

    March 22 - Dr. David E. Kemp, Director, Mood & Metabolic Clinic, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, Case Wester Reserve University will present the results of recent clinical studies on the impact of obesity and antidiabetic compounds on mood and depression. The title of his seminar is Antidiabetic drugs as modulators of mood: novel targets for the treatment of major depression and bipolar disorder. Join us at 3 PM in room MN-463. Seminar host Dr. Thibault.

    April 12 - Dr. Andrea Richardson from Harvard Medical School will present the results from here latest research on breast cancer. The Markey Center together with the Department of Molecular and Biomedical Pharmacology are hosting her visit. Dr. Xuwei Yang will host the seminar.

    April 26 - Graduate students Heather Buechel in Dr. Blalock's lab, and Yiwei Lin in the lab of Dr. Zhou will talk to us about their research findings.

    May 3 - Graduate sutdents Jilian Vanover and Jason Tucker, both in Dr. D'Orazio's lab will present their latest research findings.

    May 10 - Graduate students Leanne Fiore in the lab of Dr. Plattner will present the results of her most recent research activities.
