Completed an Institutional Review Board (IRB) approved study titled “Trial II of Lung Protection with Azithromycin in the Preterm Infant” that assessed the possible benefit of azithromycin in preventing BPD in preterm infants and treating preterm infants who are infected with Ureaplasma spp. My study was the largest in-patient study ever performed at the University of Kentucky. Our study results were published in the journal Pediatric Pulmonology. We have performed neurodevelopmental follow-up of patients in enrolled in this study with Dr. Steven Ford and we have presented our abstract at SPR annual meeting in Boston, 2012. We are also working on the manuscript to submit for publication.
