SOCIAL MIXER AT CHRISMAN MILL VINEYARDS & WINERY

Imagine getting to know your fellow interns, residents, and attendings in a casual setting...on the deck of a winery, overlooking acres of ripening grapes on the vine, inhaling the sweet Bluegrass air, all while sampling various award winning wines, including the unique “Sweet Jessamine Rose.” Chrisman Mill Vineyards

Owned by a local pediatrician, Chrisman Mills Vineyards & Winery, along with the Residency Programs hosts all Pediatric interns, residents, attendings and their families in June as part of intern orientation. This is a special time to relax and mingle in the stress-free and beautiful Kentucky countryside before the rigors of a new academic year begin.

HOLIDAY PARTY

As the calendar year winds to a close, recruitment takes a brief pause and folks prepare for some snow and holiday cheer, we take a little time to appreciate the season and enjoy each other's company. And have awesome food. And a little white-elephant gift-giving. Whether you come away with a treasure, or with a trinket you'll be re-gifting next year, the annual peds holiday party is a fun way we let our hair down and celebrate the successful completion of the first half of (our) year.

SENIOR BANQUET AND ROAST

Red Mile ClubhouseTime flies when you’re having fun, and Senior Banquet serves as the end cap to another successful and robust year at the Kentucky Children’s Hospital. Awards are given out during this week’s Grand Rounds, and the Senior Banquet gives faculty and staff the opportunity to show their appreciation to the senior residents who worked diligently during residency and who will soon join them as attendings. The banquet’s capstone is the Roast wherein the seniors’ fellow residents and interns show their version of appreciation with the aide of skits, videos, spoofs, and puns.
