PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT POST-GRADUATE RESIDENCY IN NEONATOLOGY

UK Bridge Entry Requirements

  • The applicant must be a graduate of an ARC-P accredited Physician Assistant Program.
  • The applicant must have passed or be eligible for the National Certification Examination for Physician Assistants. Send transcript of score if available.
  • The applicant must submit the following

    1. Completed application form
    2. A resume or CV
    3. Copy of Neonatal Resuscitation Certification if previously certified. For those applicants who are not yet certified prior to enrollment in the program, NRP training and certification will be provided.
    4. Two letters of recommendation in addition to a letter from the PA Program Director or Coordinator of the Program from which the applicant has graduated (3 letters total)
    5. A 1-2 page typewritten personal statement describing why the applicant wishes to seek further training in Neonatal Intensive Care, qualifications and career goals.

Application Process

All submitted application materials will be reviewed by the Program Admissions Committee. Applicants that receive a positive review will be asked to attend a day long personal interview with members of the Neonatology Division and other personnel from the University.

Credentials

Upon graduation, the PA resident receives a certificate signed by the Program Director, Neonatology Division Chief, Department of Pediatrics Chairman, Dean of the Medical School, and Chancellor of the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

Finances

Salary: Competitive with other PA programs
Benefits: Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, 10% Retirement Contribution, $10,000 Life and AD&D Insurance
Vacation: Two weeks of paid vacation will be provided. Vacation may not be taken during the last week of June or first week of July. Regular holidays are “off” unless scheduled to be on-call. If a resident is on-call on a holiday, a make-up day off can be arranged. An additional five days off are given for Christmas or New Years.
