• Dr. John Hunsaker wins award (4/30/08) -Dr. John Hunsaker has been awarded the 2008 Wolf Award by the Kentucky Coroners’ Association. This award is the highest honor presented by the Kentucky State Coroners Association. The award is presented annual to an individual in recognition for their outstanding dedication and service to the Commonwealth of Kentucky Coroners. The David Wolfe Award is named after a Forensic Anthropologist for KY, who died in the early 1990’s.
• Hematology Lab Recognized (1/29/2008) - The College of American Pathologists has recognized the hematology laboratory for its excellent performance by inviting the lab to serve as a hematology referee for the 2008 survey year. These referees are chosen from those labs with a record of perfect performance on consensus cell identification challenges from the preceding year. The referee process will consist of the laboratory receiving approximately twenty hematology images for identification, three times per year, and serve as “experts” who perform a valuable service to evaluate the images used in the CAP Surveys Program.
