Our Mission, Values & Goals



The mission of the UK Physician Assistant program is to educate competent physician assistants committed to the delivery of high quality and compassionate health care in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and beyond.

To achieve our mission, the UKPA program will:

  • Diversity - Create an educational environment that fosters respect, inclusion and sensitivity for individual differences in students, faculty and staff.
  • Rural/ Underserved - Prepare and encourage graduates to practice in rural and underserved communities.
  • Interprofessional Education - Inspire students to be leaders in an ever-evolving health care system by providing interprofessional education opportunities. 
  • Develop Faculty and Staff - Cultivate faculty and staff who are committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, service, and professional development.
  • Primary Care - Maintain an accredited program with an innovative curriculum that prepares entry-level graduates to meet the primary care needs of the population.
