College of Health SciencesPhysician Assistant StudiesThe University of Kentucky physician assistant program is fully accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA). The Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies degree is conferred by the UK Graduate School for students at the UK Lexington campus and at the rural campus located on the campus of Morehead State University. Graduates are eligible to take the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination. After successful completion of the examination, they are eligible for state certification and licensure to practice as certified physician assistants. Students and faculty from UK, including Lynn English, Tony English, Sharon Stewart and CHS students, Mikal Mathies, Haley Riney and Jessica Seymour, are participating in a medical missions trip to Ecuador. On the way, their bus was caught in traffic after a tanker truck and bus collided. The 40+ members of the team rushed in to help the Ecuadorean medical response units. Admissions InformationThe Central Application Service for Physician Assistants (CASPA) will open for applications on April 15, 2009. Please refer to out Admission Criteria page and FAQ page for more information on completing your application. The deadline for application for admission in January 2010 is June 15, 2009.
