The curriculum allows time for exploration of subspecialty services such as Maternal Fetal Medicine, Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility, Gynecology Oncology, and Urogynecology. Each year, the resident will have 5 week rotations through various services. As the resident physician progresses through the residency, they will have more independence and responsibility leading up to the 4th year, chief resident. The chief resident will have sufficient independent operating experience to become technically competent and have enough total responsibility for management of patients to ensure proficiency in the diagnostic and treatment skills that are required of a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology in office and hospital practice. Sample rotations for each respective year are given below: Residents maintain continuity clinics throughout their four years of residency. The first and second year residents see obstetric patients and the third and fourth year resident see mainly gynecology patients. Also, residents experience continuity of care on various rotations.
