The specific aims of the project are to:

  • Conduct a nationwide survey of Academic Nurse-Managed Centers.
  • Describe the clients served, clinical services provided, financial and business systems in place, educational experiences provided and community partnerships associated with these centers.

  • Document the extent to which academic nurse-managed centers serve as safety net providers by developing a pictorial map of the geographic distribution of ANMCs in the U.S.  This map will show the relationships between the locations of ANMCs and the national distribution of Medically Underserved Areas and Health Professions Shortage Areas using Geographic Information Systems software.
