Research funding in the College of Nursing has
steadily increased over the last ten years. In FY 2007,
our collaborative total funding was $5,327,973. In the
past two years, the College has logged more than 200
research-based publications and presentations. In
2005, the Chronicle of Higher Education ranked our
faculty ninth among public and private nursing doctoral programs nationwide in terms of scholarly
activity.
The Office of Research and
Scholarship is the research hub of the College of
Nursing. Here both students and faculty will find support
and encouragement for their research activities. Available
resources include assistance in obtaining extramural
funding, literature searches, statistical consultation and
manuscript preparation.
The office sponsors monthly
seminars which spotlight interesting
research projects being conducted by faculty and students
in the College, as well as invited guests. A research
scholarship group meets monthly to discuss emerging
research ideas, proposal development, conduct of research
projects, and manuscript writing. A bimonthly research
newsletter, Inquiring Minds, is distributed to all faculty and
graduate students in the College.
