Kate Moore completed the Doctor of Nursing Practice program at Case Western Reserve University with her research in controlled volume resuscitation in pre-hospital trauma. She also holds degrees from Vanderbilt University, Tennessee State University, Middle Tennessee State University and Columbia State Community College. She serves in the US Army Reserve, holding the rank of Lieutenant Colonel (promotable) in the Army Nurse Corps. LTC Moore served with the 10th Combat Support Hospital in Baghdad from September 2005 until November 2006.

Moore performs research in the areas of volume resuscitation in trauma patients, hypothermia in trauma, measuring initial clinical competency and sustainment of clinical competencies in health care providers using high fidelity human patient simulation. She is a frequent contributor to several peer-reviewed medical journals and serves as a reviewer for several peer-reviewed nursing journals. She also serves as a subject matter expert in evidence-based practice in pre-hospital care and translational research.
