Nancy Kloha received her
bachelor's degree in nursing in 1975 from the University of
Evansville. In 1977 she received a Master of Science degree from
Indiana University in the nursing of children and a Specialist in
Clinical Nursing degree in the primary care of adults and
children. She is certified by the National Association of School
Nurses. Currently she is working toward completion of her Doctor
of Nursing Practice degree. Kloha has worked in the pediatric ICU and medical primary care
clinics at Children's Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati. She
taught nursing at Minot State College in North Dakota. Since 1990,
she has lived in Ashland, Ky., where she worked for the Fivco
District Health Department as a family nurse practitioner until
2001. In 1996, she began a clinical teaching role for UK's
Family Nurse Practitioner Track (master's program) at the Morehead outreach site.
Her current clinical practice site is with the Lawrence County
Health Department, where she does family planning services and
provides a school-based clinic at the Lawrence County High
School.
Kloha served as the A.R.N.P. representative on the
Kentucky Board of Nursing from 1995-98. Since 2001, she has been
an on-site evaluator for the Commission on Collegiate Nursing
Education accreditation process. She is active in the
Kentucky Coalition of Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Midwives. In
1997 she received the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners
Award for Nurse Practitioner of the Year for Kentucky.
