Frances Hardin-Fanning received her associate degree in nursing from Morehead State University in 1997, where she received the Outstanding A.D.N. Graduate award. She received a Master of Science degree from the University of Kentucky in 2005 and received the UK College of Nursing Alumni Association graduate student award. She is currently completing her Ph.D. in nursing and received the James S. Brown Graduate Student award for her dissertation research related to nutrition in Eastern Kentucky.

Fanning has worked in critical and emergency care since 1998 and has taught at the University since 2005. In 2009 she received the College of Nursing’s Louise Zeeger Nursing Faculty Award. She is currently a faculty senator, the faculty advisor for the College of Nursing ROTC cadets, and advisor to the Undergraduate Nursing Activities and Advisory Council.
