R.N.-M.S.N. Admission
Requirements
- Registered nurse licensure; an earned diploma
in nursing or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited
program
- Nursing diploma graduates must successfully complete ACT-PEP tests
- Completion of all University Studies requirements, 9 credit hours of
electives, and a minimum of 95 earned credit hours
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 grading scale
- Registered nurse licensure in state where clinicals will take place.
Must have some clinical experience prior to first clinical course.
- Satisfactory scores on the Graduate Records Examination (GRE)
General Test, consisting of three sections (verbal, quantitative,
and analytic writing). Minimum scores
of 400 are preferred for the verbal and quantitative sections. Analytical Writing scores are evaluated
individually.
- Admission to the Graduate School
- Graduate-level statistics course (STA 570 or EDP 557; Nursing
Management students must take STA 570.)
- Nursing Management students need to show evidence of an
undergraduate health assessment course.
- Three references - forms will be inside your application packet. Include one from a recent employer
and one from a nursing faculty member. Two of the three must be
from nurses.
- Written goal statement; instructions are on the
application.
- Interview with graduate faculty representative
