Graduation Eligibility
- You are responsible for being familiar with
requirements for the degree of Bachelor of Science in Nursing
and for conferring with advisors when selecting your courses.
The University will award your degree, Bachelor of Science in
Nursing, upon your successful completion of the College and
University requirements. You will find curriculum requirements
for R.N. and Four- Year students, and descriptions of nursing
courses, in the
University of Kentucky Bulletin.
- To be eligible for a degree, you must file an
application through our Office of Student Services within 30
days after the beginning of the semester (or 15 days in the
summer session) in which you expect to complete your degree
requirements. Check the
University Calendar for the specific
dates and ask for application cards from our Office of Student
Services.
- To be eligible for graduation, you must meet
University and College requirements for graduation. You must
achieve a grade point average of 2.0 in nursing and a 2.0
overall grade point average. Application for your degree must be
filed in the Office of Student Services within two weeks after
the beginning of the semester or summer session in which your
requirements will be completed. These dates are published in the
UK Bulletin and the
Schedule of Classes. Library fines and other
financial obligations must be paid prior to commencement
ceremonies.
- The Kentucky Board of Nursing requires
that you report all misdemeanor and/or felony convictions on
your licensure application. Some convictions are serious enough
that they may prevent your being licensed as a registered nurse
(see: Questions about Applications for Licensure with Criminal
Convictions). If you have questions about this seek assistance
from your academic advisor and/or the assistant dean.
