Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice
College of Nursing
faculty and students uphold the profession's standards of clinical
practice. These are based on the American Nurses' Association
Social Policy Statement (1995). The Standards of Advanced Practice
Nursing (1997) provide the baseline for graduate-level clinical
practice. The relevant specialty standards provide baseline
expectations for practice in each specialty area.
Advanced Nursing Practice
Advanced practice nursing (APN) is the use of theory, research and
clinical knowledge in decision making, practice innovation,
complex care delivery and leadership in health care and the
profession.
