"Netiquette"
We are all adjusting to the new social dynamics
that develop when we use electronic messaging. Keeping a few
simple rules of thumb in mind will make this communication medium
enjoyable and useful for everyone.
- Remember that the most effective e-mail
messages are short, clear and to the point.
- Allow the person to whom you are sending an
e-mail message at least 48 hours to respond. If you do not
receive a reply, check to see if the person received your
message.
- Do not send lengthy attachments and expect
the receiver to print them. It is easier for the recipient if
you provide a printed copy of your document.
- Acknowledge by return message that you have
received an e-mail message.
