Goal of the Master's Program
As stated in the philosophy, the purpose of the
master's program is preparation for the advanced practice of
nursing. In the master's program, professional nurses prepared as
generalists at the baccalaureate level gain advanced knowledge and
skills in the nursing care of a defined population of clients.
Such specialized knowledge and skills are the bases for nursing
leadership in health care, and a foundation for developing further
expertise in doctoral study.
