Degree Applications

To be eligible for a degree, you must file an application with the Graduate School within 30 days after the beginning of the semester (or 15 days in the summer session) in which you expect to complete your studies. You may pick up the blue application cards in room 309, College of Nursing, Office of Student Services from the Student Affairs Officer for Graduate Studies.

After completion, the blue degree cards must be signed by the appropriate assistant dean, who will forward them to the Graduate School. The deadlines for filing for a degree are listed in the University Bulletin and in the Schedule of Classes. (Note: Major code NUR; degree codes M.S.N. or Ph.D.)

Degrees are awarded at the end of the fall semester, the spring semester, and the summer session, but formal public ceremonies are held only at the spring commencement. You are encouraged to attend commencement exercises even if you receive your degree in the preceding summer or fall.

Advisors are to request and urge graduating master's students to complete the End-of-Program Evaluation. These forms will be given to the graduating student by the assistant dean for advanced practice nursing when the final exam is taken.
