University of Kentucky College of Nursing Alumni Association

The objectives of the alumni association are:

• To establish ways and means of continuing ties of friendship among the alumni
• To encourage mutually beneficial relations between the College of Nursing and its alumni
• To promote the interest and activities of the College
• To enlist the influence and support of alumni in joining with the University of Kentucky and with the nursing profession in seeking the advancement of health services for human welfare
• To encourage alumni to seek individual professional growth and to support advancement in the nursing profession

Active Membership includes graduates of the University of Kentucky College of Nursing who are in good standing. Associate Membership is granted to graduate students and members of the senior class of the College of Nursing, with privileges of attending and participating in the meetings of the Association.

Alumni Association Graduate Student Presidential Award
The purpose of the UK CONAA Presidential Award is to recognize the individual who best exemplifies the embodiment of a future member of the College of Nursing Alumni Association through a combination of the established criteria.

Award criteria: Commitment to advanced nursing practice, including individuals, groups, communities or systems; scholarly activities; participation in College of Nursing activities; initiative and innovativeness; vision, spirit and enthusiasm; minimum 3.0 GPA.

• Award given at May recognition program

Alumni Association Carolyn A. Williams Doctoral Student Award
The purpose of the UK CONAA Carolyn A. Williams Doctoral Student Award is to recognize a doctoral student showing exemplary contributions in the following areas: public policy, community health, community involvement, scholarship and a 3.0 GPA at time of graduation.

• Award given at May recognition ceremony
