Diagnostic Skin Testing and Procedures for Nurse Practitioners

Purpose:
  Nurse practitioners will develop skills in diagnostic skin testing and procedures.

Objectives: 

  • discuss anatomy of fingers and toes

  • demonstrate the following procedures: digital nerve block, nail removal, incision and drainage, shave biopsy, skin tag removal, punch biopsy, and subungual hematoma excision

Target audience: Adult medical/surgical nurse practitioners

Program Director: Sharon Lock, R.N., Ph.D., A.R.N.P.,  associate professor and track coordinator, primary care and acute care nurse practitioner master's tracks, University of Kentucky College of Nursing

Faculty: Danny Albertson, A.R.N.P.,
co-owner, Bluegrass Regional Foot & Ankle Associates. Albertson provides independent nurse practitioner care for individuals with podiatric needs.
 

Parking: Free parking is available in the Kentucky Clinic parking structure on Huguelet Dr.
