The Nun Study

Nun Study Participant Honored

The University of Kentucky honored 101-year-old Sister Anne Mayer on January 10, 2007
during the UK-Auburn basketball game. Sister Anne, a School Sister of Notre Dame,
appeared as a representative for all Nun Study participants.

Sister Anne is pictured* above with UK First Lady Patsy Todd; UK President Dr. Lee T. Todd, Jr.;
and Dr. David Snowdon, Director of the Nun Study.

The Nun Study is a longitudinal study of aging and Alzheimer's disease funded by the National Institute on Aging. Participants are 678 American members of the School Sisters of Notre Dame religious congregation who are 75 to 106 years of age.   Book Cover
