University Support Funds

Dr. James Tracy, Vice President for Research is highly supportive of the proposed graduate training in drug abuse research and provides a $4,000 supplement for each training position per year.  These funds are available for use at the discretion of the Program Director.  They are used for recruitment to bring candidates to the campus, to supplement salaries, to advertise the program, etc.

Dr. Tracy also administers a Faculty Research Grant program (not to exceed $15,000 per application) and a Major Research Equipment program (for equipment between $5,000 and $40,000) that are available to all faculty.  In addition, he manages the Medical Research Funds which are used in part to purchase major equipment and for matching funds in NIH research or instrumentation grants.  All training faculty have benefited and will continue to benefit from these programs.
