The Department of Neurology has a strong commitment to teaching and is very proud that many medical student graduates of the University of Kentucky have chosen Neurology as their specialty due to their exposure to our Neurology rotation for medical students. Several members of the Department of Neurology hold the distinct privilege of having been selected as Master Teachers at the University of Kentucky.

Members of the Department are well represented as teaching faculty at a wide variety of national and international meetings. Additionally, members of the Department serve on the editorial boards of many scientific publications, among them Neurology, AIDS, Journal of Neurovirology, Neurology Network Commentary, and the Yearbook of Neurology and Neurosurgery.

Since 1995, the Department has been responsible for a course entitled "Neurology for the Primary Care Provider."  This course is held in the fall of each year and attracts a wide attendance not only from Kentucky, but also from the neighboring states.
