Brian Gold is the director of the Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory, and an Associate Professor in the Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology, within UK’s College of Medicine. His research interests lie broadly within the field of cognitive neuroscience, with particular emphasis on brain pathways that support language and executive functions. In addition, Dr. Gold’s research aims to characterize neurocognitive changes associated with normal aging and early Alzheimer’s disease. More specific themes of research are described on the lab research page. Dr. Gold’s research has been funded through multiple grants from the National Institutes of Health and National Science Foundation. Findings from Dr. Gold’s lab have been covered in print stories and television interviews by news agencies such as ABC, CNN, NBC, and CBC. He currently serves on the editorial board for the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease, and on several scientific advisory committees related to dementia research and prevention. Dr. Gold is also a dedicated teacher, serving as a core faculty member for
Medical Neuroscience, and a mentor for postdocs and students at all levels. |
