Education:
Rajasthan Agriculture University
Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry

Hometown:
Bikaner, India

Lab:
Dr. Geddes

Research Interest:
My interests lie in developing a better understanding of protein function, localization, interactions, and regulation/dysregulation. This will help us understand various diseases and provide novel targets for therapy. Currently my research focuses on understanding the role of a cysteine protease, mitochondrial μ-calpain, in excitotoxic neurodegeneration, including both the pathologic and physiologic protein substrates. An additional component of my research is designing a highly specific and site directed inhibitory strategy to limit the damage resulting from calpain hyperactivation. Later in my career, I plan to continue to examine the molecular events in pathogenesis of neuronal diseases.
