  • 1985, received his medical degree at the Silesian School of Medicine, Poland
  • 1989, received his PhD with his dissertation entitled “Pathomechanisms of experimental atherosclerosis induced by methionine-enriched or lipid-enriched diets, Silesian School of Medicine, Poland
  • Research interests on the mechanisms of the disruption of the blood-brain barrier in chronic and acute CNS disease
  • Interests also in spinal cord trauma and brain metastasis
